Class: 1Art – 1.2
Time: 09:00 – 11:40 (double period)
Date: 24/09/18
School: Coláiste Choilm
Mentor: Mary O’ Mahony
The class began with the roll call. Pupils who had
missed last week’s class has cross contour drawing explained to them. The
co-operating teacher then allowed pupils who were present in the previous class
to teach their peers. This was quite successful, bar three pupils who couldn’t
explain to the others. They were too giddy, even though the teacher had told
them 3 times to help their peers. The co-operating teacher then moved the other
two who were not present to another table, so that they could continue with the
class. The co-operating teacher did not reprimand them, rather just had them
continue with their work. I’m not sure what I would’ve done. One of the
students is very quiet in every other class, and is coming out of her shell in
this class. To put a stop to social engagement with other students, could have
a negative effect on this pupil. The co-operating teacher and I discussed this,
and agreed on that. It was decided to leave them for now. The pupils were
engaged with the class, and responded well to the informative video shown to
them. They moved onto bananas, a more challenging fruit.
