On reflection of the learning that took place, they responded very well to the two works that show tattoos being used in contemporary art. I showed works by Wim Delvoye and Santiago Sierra, which opened up a very interesting discussing regarding ethics, morality and how they fit into the art world. I had been concerned showing these works as they may be upsetting to some of the class, however after a discussion with my co-op she said that it would be suitable.

I took the role and introduced the class to the topic today which is Form, Tone, Contrast, Depth. The pupils were engaged, but I didn’t have the same control as my co-operation teacher. Throughout the lesson I engaged with pupils and spoke to them about their work, making them think about why and what they were working on. Working with different forms, cones and squares, they were analysing how light affects form and the contrast that can be seen in their primary source. I found myself to have a shaky start and have to be mindful of my timing. I need to be more assertive and sure of myself in the beginning.
